Diamond Quay (visit website) is a premium beauty salon set within a historic building within the Town Quay in Fareham, Hampshire.

We are extremely proud of our reputation as Hampshire’s premium beauty salon with a team of award winning staff specialising in cosmetic tattooing, skin therapies and advanced training for professionals within the industry.

Previously we had used cheaper bottled alcohol gel and soap products and were never really happy with the fact that everyone was touching the same bottle and potentially causing contamination. Along with this, bottles would clog up and become very messy for our clients and staff to use.

I came across the Germstar brand through a family member who has used the Germstar sanitiser system within their privately owned care home for several years, they recommended this product to us when we were looking to enhance our hand hygiene practices at Diamond Quay.

The advancement in techniques and close contact with our clients for cosmetic tattooing and skin therapies means that infection control is now more important than ever, we are constantly hand washing, hand sanitising and using protective gloves, Germstar just made our daily hygiene practices safer and significantly raised compliance.

We wanted a dispenser that was touch-free with a hand sanitiser that did not leave a sticky residue on the skin after use. Our team are constantly changing gloves and when we use a cheaper alcohol gel, the gloves simply rip or the guys can not get them on properly due to having sticky hands. Germstar was just what we were looking for, as our guys wash their hands using the Germstar Soap dispensers, then sanitise and can easily change gloves. The sanitiser solution is particularly good for leaving the skin soft and moisturised after use.

The overall look of the equipment was especially important, we wanted something that looked unique and modern to suit our décor within the salon, the Germstar dispenser definitely looks like a premium product to give a feel good factor for our clients and staff.

Introducing Germstar to my business was easy, from choosing the equipment and locations of dispensers, the team at Germstar assisted us with an initial site audit, when we were happy they quickly installed all the dispensers throughout the building complete with signage at no extra cost.

The reaction from our clients has been very good, they always comment how smart the Germstar dispensers look and feel great on their hands after sanitising.

A cost saving has also been seen, as the Germstar system is very efficient and you do not get any wastage from the refills, not like the traditional pump bottles, we were always throwing stock away because we couldn’t get the last bit of product out. Germstar uses every last drop of sanitiser until empty.
